JOY smiles on a leaf

And flutters in delight

Seeded in cowardice
FEAR takes root in doubt
Bursts forth in anguish
Branches out in blame
And bears fruits of guilt

Spawned in gloom
SORROW hatches in misery
Swims in waters blue
Gets hooked in pain
And writhes in despair

Conceived in threat
ANGER suckles on pride
Preys gamely on impulse
Ravages without mercy
And roars out in rage

Brooded in darkness
HATRED thrives on evil
Crawls out in deceit
Slithers with malice
And spits with spite
Nestled by closeness
LOVE hatches in warmth
Nurtures on friendship
Flies off in peace
And sings in its praise
